Living in the Lincolnshire countryside creates a wonderful laid back atmosphere for a rustic styled wedding. Think hessian and lace, trailing flowers and natural colours in an idyllic barn setting. Read on to see our favourite ideas to give your wedding that rustic feel.
The perfect barn venue at Elsham Hall
This beautiful and unique wedding venue has stunning architectural features to create that rustic style that we love. The natural tones and greenery create that wonderful laid back setting with the drapes and lighting hanging from the high ceiling making it breathtaking.

Quirky tipi and outdoor ceremony
Scrivelsby Walled Gardens have amazing tipis which make for a relaxed wedding day. Have a beautiful outdoor ceremony and then have use of the Tipis for the rest of the night. Decorated with fairy lights and rustic fire pits for an intimate wedding day.

Order a naked or semi-naked wedding cake
Filled with rustic charm a naked cake is the must have choice for your wedding cake. Topped with flowers and fruit decorations for that delicate touch that is simple but makes for a spectacular look. If you are not so sure about a totally naked cake then choose a semi-naked cake that has buttercream swept around the outside, it looks so effective!

DIY some pretty decor
Create that whimsical vibe with DIY table centrepieces using gypsophila, glass jam jars and candles all set on a tree bark. It can be very cost effective and you can add your own touch of personality as well. You can also choose to hang decor from the ceiling which adds height and dimension to the room.

Go less formal with the food
Instead of the traditional 3 course meal there are a variety of options to create a more fun and relaxed feeling when it comes to your food. Afternoon tea is a superb option and go for a hog roast for the evening. You can also serve up tapas style sharing dishes which create a lively atmosphere for your guests.

Trailing florals and foliage
What we love about rustic styled weddings are the natural colour tones and plenty of greenery. Choose neutrals, pale pinks and green leaves in a hand tied bouquet. You can use gypsophila for your decorations and it makes for a pretty boho look when used in your hairstyle as well.

Choose a pretty gown with soft lace details
Go for delicate floral appliques reminiscent of a country garden, like our 'Effie' gown. We love the soft and natural shape of the tulle skirt, finished with a stunning lace hem border, priced at £649.
