FAQs
-
Do I need an appointment to try dresses?Appointments are not always necessary but we recommend that you book in advance to guarantee that a changing room will be available. Appointments are highly recommended for Saturdays during our busy periods. We are open Tuesdays - Saturdays 10am - 5pm. You can book an appointment online 24/7 with real time availability and instant confirmation. Click here to book online.
-
Can I bring Champagne or bubbly with me to celebrate whilst trying on dresses? We appreciate that choosing your wedding dress is a very special event and our staff will do everything they can to help you on the day. However due the nature of the store when it gets very busy there are lots of people and staff with dresses being moved around the store very rapidly so we cannot allow food or drinks around the dresses to avoid spillages as bridal fabrics are very delicate. We can however recommend some lovely local places that you can go to for a special drink, lunch or maybe even afternoon tea or dinner in the local area.
-
Are the dresses shown online the only dresses you have in store? No, in fact we have many more dresses in store. Our website only shows a very small portion of the styles we have in stock and we get new dresses in frequently.
-
What are the payment options? We accept cash or all major credit/debit cards as payment for your gown. Unfortunately we are unable to offer payment plans or deposit payments as all our dresses are paid for and taken on the day. We don't have a lay-by or storage system which is how we can keep our prices low for our customers.
-
What underwear should I wear? Most of our wedding dresses do not require bras to be worn with them as they have all of the internal boning and padded cups to give great support. However if you would like to wear a bra for your appointment we would recommend a nude or white coloured strapless bra.
-
What sizes are your gowns available in?We have dresses in stock in sizes 6 - 26.
-
How much are your gowns? All wedding dresses are £649 or less.
-
Are you able to order gowns in different sizes?Unfortunately as all of our dresses are off-the-peg we cannot order alternative sizes. Although all gowns can be adjusted by a seamstress to fit.
-
Will you get the same gowns back in stock? Our stock changes all the time, what you see on the website is just a small selection of styles. We have many more in store, once gowns are sold we are unlikely to get the same styles back in stock. This is to keep the gowns more exclusive to each bride. If you find a gown you like we would encourage you to purchase it as the next day it could be sold and we might not get another back in stock.
-
Do you do dress alterations and adjustments if needed? We don't have in-house seamstress facilities however we can recommend many experienced seamstresses where you can take your gown to be altered. The details are provided in store once you have purchased your gown. Our experienced bridal advisors can advise you of what alterations can be done to each gown.
-
Do you sell bridesmaid dresses?Unfortunately we don't, we only stock wedding dresses and accessories for the bride.
-
Do you sell accessories? We have a range of accessories for the bride including veils, tiaras, headpieces, jewellery and bridal belts to complete your look. You can view just a small selection of our accessories on our website.
-
What is your returns policy? We do not currently accepts returns or refunds on any items in store. For more information please see our full Terms & Conditions: www.theivorygown.co.uk/terms-and-conditions
-
What designers do you sell in store? All of our bridal dresses are designed exclusively for our store by our UK design team. We only stock our exclusive bridal collections Nova Bride and Gabby Garos.
-
Do you have a brochure that can be posted out to me?Our dress designs change very frequently so therefore we are unable to create a brochure. We carry a large selection of styles and designs and we are sure that there will be something that suits your individual requirements. We have images of just some of our gowns on the wedding dresses page of our website and often our Facebook and Instagram pages will have the most up to date dresses.
-
Can I take photographs? You are very welcome to take photographs of our gowns, though we do ask that you are considerate of other customers in the store who may not wish to be photographed.
