A Day in the Life of a Bridal Consultant...

Having worked in bridal since I was 15 years old (nearly half my life!) I love every minute and have fallen in love with finding brides their dream dress. Everyday is creating dreams for incredible women and making fairy tales come true (with a bit of hard work thrown in too!). So what does a typical day look like for me?
I start my day by grabbing a coffee to wake me up whilst checking emails and social media for any queries from our lovely customers. This is something I come back to throughout the day (and sometimes in the evenings!) to make sure I am getting back to everyone swiftly

We get new deliveries all the time so I’m often receiving new dresses in store and once they’ve arrived I need to sort through, hang them up and steam them so they are ready to try on and looking their best. Steaming the dresses is also a great arm workout, win-win!

Then if we’ve got a bride booked in I will greet customers, have a chat and get to know the gorgeous bride so that we can start finding dresses she loves and start the trying on process. Each bride gets their own consultant and private dressing room plus seating area for family and friends. When the bride says ‘Yes to the dress!’ we ask if she would like her picture taken for our website and I upload it to our website and social media. This is my favourite part of the job by far, helping our brides find ‘the one’ and being part of their amazing wedding story – it’s a dream come true!
If we get a free minute we like to update our window displays to keep things fresh and inspiring for our brides and also for us. We love showcasing our latest gowns that come through the doors and styling them up with our accessories, belts and jewellery. We also need to tidy away any dresses from previous appointments and keep our rails looking spick-and-span.

Another of my favourite parts of the job is searching and choosing new dresses for the store. I adore browsing dresses and imagining what our brides would love, knowing that eventually a bride will be wearing the dress on her big day.
Slightly less glamorous, but I like to keep on top of my admin jobs such as emailing suppliers, posting invoices, creating inspirational social media content, and keeping our paperwork in order. Then once the last bride is left and all of the admin jobs are sorted we do a big tidy up and clean everything to get it looking perfect again ready for the next day of fun.
I feel so lucky that I get to call this my job! I am so thankful to all of our brides, past, present and future - without you we couldn’t do this everyday, so thank you for choosing to support local! - Abbi x
